The Debate , Baseball , Bodhi and life in general

Well it looks like Game, Set, Match to me for Sen. Barack Obama. He stayed cool under fire taking the lowest blows from McPalin. Barack Obama is what this country needs. When a team is going badly they look for a manager that is opposite of the last manager they had. Obama is intelligent to Bush's proud anti-intellectual stance. Bush is fiery , while Obama is cool. Barack reaches out to our allies around the world while Bush and McCain believe in Cowboy diplomacy. Obama pulled himself up to great heights. McCain is a product of entitlement. From his entry to West Point, graduating near the bottom of his class might i add. to his wealth, he is precisely what we do not need. Barack Obama is in touch and offers a tax cut for the middle class.

Ok enough of that.

Well the Yankees end was certainly inglorious this year. I suppose it had to happen at some point. Still a nice playoff stretch with some world series, pennants and Al Championships thrown in. I would love to see the Yankees dive in and sign CC Sabathia , Another solid starter and Mark Texierra. In any sense with the health of Wang, the health and maturation of Phil Hughes, and Ian Kennedy the Yankees will be in better shape and offer a more serious challenge to the now deadly Ray's. ( As a side note I can't stand calling them the Ray's , Devil Rays worked so much better). The always dangerous Red Sox and the lurking Toronto Blue Jays. Oh yeah Baltimore Orioles too lol.

I really am so grateful for the wonderful life i have. My wife is the most wonderful woman and best friend in a very beautiful package. I have the most terrific son who brightens the days of everyone he is around. I have a wonderful family, my in laws are the best people who i marvel at constantly. Kenny helps me remember to keep things in perspective and my mother and grandmother are inspirations to me. My job , my co-workers , and the clients i serve bring me joy and happiness even when times are tough.

Well the Dodgers are down to the final out here. Phillies against someone , hopefully the Rays for the world series. Boy baseball, just life life can amaze you.

latest rantings

Hi again , just wanted to post on some things that i'm thinking about.

Yankees- It seems like this year is one injury and setback after another. Young, old , past injuries or healthy it seems like the yankees are snakebit this year. The latest injury is Joba. We do not know yet how severe it is, but if he misses really any time i just don't see it being a mountain the yankees can climb. Between Bruney, Damon, Matsui, Wang, Hughes, Kennedy, Posada and now Joba? Gimme a break! well strike that the yankees have had too many breaks . We need health, health , health.

Where did the summer go? I have been to the beach like one time and its almost over.

On the positive side, I'm just filled with joy watching Bodhi grow right before my eyes. He can basically stand by himself now. He is kinda saying Momma, and he is understanding words.
Jen is doing her usual awesome job at being a mom this summer. I'm really proud of her art pieces she is creating too.

Well thats about it for now! talk to ya soon

cha-cha-changes

Ah yes David Bowie did say it best. Changes. Some changes are great. Some can really suck.
I have made many great changes in my life over the last few years. I have a wonderful life that I couldn't imagine possible a few years ago. I did want to talk about changes that suck. Such as the case with good friends moving away. One of our dear friends and one who was instrumental in gettting Jen and I together will be leaving Myrtle Beach this week. I am truly saddened. Nicole is one of the most authentic and positive people anyone could ever meet. Truly a good sport , she is always rallying the troops for things that people just wouldn't do if she wasn't saying C'mon guys we can do it. Nicole is moving to Chicago, and she has good motivation to do so, but it is always hard to not have someone so cool as a friend and neighbor anymore. Such is life in Myrtle Beach. People come and people go. That can be the best and worst thing about living here. Many businesses come and go in Myrtle Beach. It can be at the same time exciting and exausting. Happy and Sad. Such is the same feeling I feel with Nicole moving. In other news of the changing theme. Tonight is the MLB all-star game. Still the best of all the sports all star games. It is of course extra special because it is in The House that Ruth Built. Only about 30 or so games left there before the wrecking ball makes it a memory. Of course the new stadium will be extra cool and i'm sure will be the standard by which all other ball parks are measured, which was the case with The House that Ruth Built. Happy and Sad. Bitter and Sweet.
In other news I hear that Coastal may be doing Rocky Horror Picture Show this year! I'm definitely ready to do the time warp again! We are planning a party and we will have an extra special guest for the party which should arrive in about 2 weeks. No not another baby! But something pretty cool. I'll keep ya posted.

Happiness

The more I think about it , I really think that the Buddhist concept of happiness or lack thereof makes the most sense about how to look at it. What we lack and the desire seems to be the cause of so much pain for people and for myself in the past.

I spend so much time lately counting my numerous blessings. I have the absolute hands down no doubt it best wife in the world. Not only is she a knockout, but she is smart, funny and loving. She has the family that anyone would ever want. Stable, fun and happy individuals who are not afraid to be themselves always. My son is the cutest kid in the world. He is a happy baby 95% of the time, (Hey who can ask more from a baby). He is strong and healthy and even funny.

I have this wonderful mother who is always in my corner no matter how the chips have been down for me in my life. She is hardworking and loves me and Jen and Bodhi.

I love my job. OK if i'm being totally honest , I'd about 100 thousand or so a year but the thing is I don't need it to be happy. Sometimes the money gets tighter than I wish but it all works out great.

I'd love to lost some weight and I do fight the battle of the bulge on and off. But again I don't need to be a certain weight to be happy.

Happiness is such a great feeling. Besides all of the wonderful people I wanted to mention other simple things that just make me feel happy.

1. Going to the beach , looking at the ocean (always works for me no matter what)
2. Playing videogames.
3. Boardgames
4. A good beer or wine (Why lie?)
5. Good food and good company
6. Baseball
7.Going to New York
8. Travel in general
9.Most exercise
10.The first snowfall of the year
11. Not having to deal with snow on a regular basis.
12.Halloween

Thats a short little list there are so much more . Take care until I talk with you again!

Welcome back to me

Hello to those who have faithfully waited for my next post. I have things that I want to chat about.
What does everyone think of the bike week fiasco. What a mess. On one hand I do believe that the Mayor is right. The Bike fests are examples of what Myrtle Beach is trying to steer away from. Myrtle Beach is trying to follow the tourism model of an area more upscale than what they have traditionally been. There will be some growing pains for sure. I kinda wonder if this will create this type of mess where the event grows even larger. I've heard some people are trying to create a million biker march on Myrtle Beach for the spring. What would that be like? I can't even fathom. Though at times it feels like a billion bikes in Myrtle Beach during May. For the conspiracy theorists do you believe that the Mayor might actually be using reverse psychology to create the event even larger. The "don't throw me in that briar patch" type of thing?
For anyone who wants some cheap entertainment, check out the online edition of the sun news when they are discussing the issue. What a scene that is!

The Yankees are really in a jam. They are caught between rebuilding and trying to win right now. That is a tricky thing to pull off. Injuries have just made this a worst case scenario type of year, but despite all of that they are still in the running as anybody for a Wild card spot. It will be interesting to watch it the rest of the way.

Poker is such a frustrating game. You can do everything right and still end up losing a hand. I suppose the chance element makes it fun, but there are times when I just walk away from the whole thing in frustration.

Well I promise that I won't take another year to compose my next blog. Until next post take care!
